When you run your laptop to the house do you need to use a preamp? What kind of cable do you use to run the laptop into the house? I am guessing you need some type of splitter?

You don’t need a preamp… unless you just want one! *smile*

You can run your audio two ways.

ONE – Use the headphone out of your computer. The cable to use would be a TRS 3.5mm Male to (2) TS Male Insert Cable – basically a little headphone plug to two big headphone plugs. This would allow you to use click on the left and all of your track audio on the right.

TWO – Use a firewire audio interface. This will allow you to run more than two outs. I use the m-audio 410 and it works great for me. It gives me 8 outputs. (see blog Q&A | 3)

A good cable/snake to use with a unit like this would be the Pro Co MT8BQXM10.

Option TWO is the better…
