Groups = Communication and/or Collaboration
It can be so difficult to keep up with peoples contact information. Making sure you’re up to date with correct emails… wow. If you email any large groups of people on a regular basis (from your personal email) then you probably get back at least 10-15 “mailer-demons” – and at least one of the emails goes to someone you really needed to communicate with.
Well, google groups makes that easy. When setting up a group you can also grab a form that google provides that you can toss in your website and have people sign up for emails. Meaning that you don’t have to keep up with their info, they subscribe themselves. AWESOME!
How do you send the emails? Google gives you a “group email” that you will send the email to, then it disburse the email to the subscribed parties.
You can also set up a collaborative group, where when anyone in the group sends an email to the “group email,” everyone in the group receives it.
The permissions allow you to let people send emails to the group with or without moderation and will also let you have people only receive the emails.
