Hebrews 12:2

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2

This passage has been in my mind for the past week. I’ve been quoting it a ton. I thought I’d share a quick thought with you concerning it.

Fix your eyes on Jesus.

By keeping our focus on Jehovah Jireh (the God who sees to it) we can have confidence that all things are working out for our good. By tuning in through prayer, worship and the reading of scripture we can focus on Jesus, the One who perfects our faith.

There is a joy set before you.

It may be hard to see today… but Jesus is perfecting something in you. By responding in trust, we are able to be at peace when things seem to be working against us (even though everything is working out FOR us). We must remember that there is a promise ahead!

You’re going to have to endure.

“In this world you will face many trials…” a harsh reality that Jesus shared with us in John 16:33. However, He goes on to say, “But have no fear! I have overcome the world.”

You are going to face issues. Life isn’t always going to go your way… but remember! Jesus has overcome the world. And your weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)

Endure another day… don’t just drudge through, but endure with reading the scriptures, worship and prayer. Today may be the last day before your promise – before your breakthrough – and you may be tired today. But when breakthrough comes, you will want to have come through strong and faithful!

You will sit on a throne.

You’re headed for a throne. You’re headed to the ultimate victory of eternity! Don’t let this world get you down too much… it will pass away. God has something wonderful for you on earth, but if you miss it… it won’t matter when you’re in Heaven! Don’t get too caught up on the small stuff!

Be blessed!
