How I Use Wunderlist

Wunderlist is an incredible todo list application that I run on my iPhone, iPad and my Mac. All the items and list stay in sync.I thought I would outline the way I use it for you…

My lists in order are:

*To Do
*Monday
*Tuesday
*Wednesday
*Thursday
*Sunday Morning
*Sunday Afternoon
*To Buy
*Stacey (shared with Stacey)
*Would Like To Accomplish
*Cool Stuff to Check Out
*Evaluate
*Groceries (shared with Ashleigh)
*Talk to Ashleigh (NOT shared with Ashleigh)
*Pray for

Okay… now let me break down how I use it.

Days of the Week

I work in a daily system. Each day is designated to certain kinds of work. I put appropriate tasks on appropriate days. If something isn’t finished, it stays on that day until the next week.

To Buy

There are items I have to purchase that are closely related to my passion… then there are staples. If I need to buy something I’m not all that interested in, it will probably go in here.

Stacey

Stacey is my assistant. She is incredible. I will add things to this list that I’d like to see her accomplish. This helps me to have a running list.

Would Like To Accomplish

This is for items that I believe would enhance our program, services, office… but are “nonessential.” For instance, we do not do anything during the time before services (which I call preservice.) We play music from a CD, some information slides and people sit in their seats, talk to each other… etc. This is available time, but it’s nonessential. So, in this list I have an item called “Preservice Plan.” I would like to create a plan for this time, to enhance it… but it’s not make-or-break.

Cool Stuff To Check Out

If I see something I want to look at later… it gets thrown in here.

Evaluate

When I notice something isn’t working, I put that item in this list.

Groceries

I share this with my wife, Ashleigh. If I notice we need something I just throw it in here… and then it shows up on her list.

Talk to Ashleigh

There is a good time to talk about everything… any other time is a bad time. I usually notice or become aware of something I would like to discuss with Ashleigh at a bad time. For instance, our dogs were living in an area of our house that wasn’t okay with me… I put that issue in the list and we talked about it. Communication is important, timing is a vital key.

FYI, the dogs are in the best possible place now. Ashleigh and I are both very happy with their location.

Pray for

If someone asks for prayer, I toss it in here.

…I’d love to hear about your to-do list system.
