Matt 11:18 ”For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ 19 ”The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”
Jesus shows us in these few words a lesson that we as leaders must hold near to our hearts as we make decisions. It’s simple, yet profound. In my words it sums up to, “You can’t win.”
We are victorious, overcoming, anointed ministers of worship and the arts (or whatever it is that you do in Jesus’s name.) But there will be some people you just can’t win with.
That’s why you must do everything you do with a pure heart and a desire to honor God.
Be encouraged, go for God, do what He’s asked you to do. Everyone else is secondary. You don’t have to live up to anyone else’s expectations. You don’t have to be what everyone thinks you should be.
Live for God. Love His word. Give Him your life. And stop trying to win the approval of man.
You can make it!
Blessings!
