But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

The Spirit and the flesh are two powerful forces. They are constantly fighting each other… the Spirit is fighting the flesh to keep you from doing things that bring you harm and condemnation. Then the flesh wars against the Spirit trying to keep you from doing things that will keep you blessed and feeling liberated.

This is why we must be sure of the One in whom there is no struggle. Jesus, being the same always (Heb 13:8), is extending mercy and grace to us. He understands the constant battle we face to live rightly, to live blessed…

Be encouraged… some times you win (with the Spirit)  and sometimes you lose (to the flesh)… but if you’re in Christ, the you can be confidently sure that you have a constant… Jesus!
