And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
And he said to him, “I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.” But he said, “O Lord GOD, how am I to know that I shall possess it?”
(Genesis 15:6-8 ESV)
Isn’t it interesting here that Abraham believes the LORD… then turns around with a doubting question like, “How am I to know that I shall possess it?”
The reality is that sometimes we call on the Lord and then we stubble to keep our faith strong. Faith is like a muscle, it needs exercise… but when it’s not super fit there is still grace for you.
I thought I’d share some thoughts and scriptures with you today to show you some grace for when you don’t have the strongest faith.
Anything not of faith (doubt) is sin, but grace reaches farther than sin. Romans 14:23 and Romans 5:20
Jesus helps us with our unbelief if we ask. Luke 22:31-32 and Mark 9:24
There is mercy for those who doubt. Jude 1:22
God shows Himself to those who ask. John 20:27
Anything you have trouble believing, you simply need to start speaking A LOT. The more you speak something, the more you start to believe it!
God’s got great things for you!
